Position Description: Performs detailed program designs, coding, testing, analyzing, training, documentation, and implementation of governmental information systems. Work with users with varied computer skill levels to determine the needs and requirements of individual systems. Provide technical assistance to users in the form of advice, problem resolution, and training.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Processing or closely related field with at least two years professional experience on IBM VSE computer systems and experience working with mainframe systems. Knowledge of IBM VSE computer systems including COBOL, CICS, and related software. Ability to use keyboard and communicate effectively. Accounting and statistical skills are desirable. Knowledge of personal computers and software such as Word, Excel, Access, Visual Basic and other programming languages preferred. Ability to prepare, read and proofread documents. Ability to drive personal automobile, possess valid Michigan Drivers License and have a good driving record. Ability to make sound decisions, solve difficult problems, analyze complex data, plan and implement programs, and use judgment in varied situations.
