Military Discharge (DD214)
There is no charge to register your military discharge form (DD214) with Saginaw County. At any time, the veteran may obtain certified copies of his/her DD214 free of charge. When registering, please bring your original copy, if possible. The DD214 will be kept for a short period of time for microfilming purposes. Upon request, the original can be mailed to the veteran or can be picked up at the Clerk's Office.
- Only a veteran can receive a copy of their own DD214.
- If the veteran is deceased, an heir can obtain a copy of the military discharge by presenting a copy of the death certificate and proof of relationship to the veteran. (e.g., birth certificate, marriage license)
