The Saginaw County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security is responsible for disaster preparedness and homeland defense initiatives for Saginaw County. Disaster preparedness involves planning for, responding to, and recovering from a major emergency or disaster. It also involves disaster mitigation or projects that lessen the effect of or prevent disasters. Our goals are saving lives, preventing injuries, and protecting property and the environment. Maintaining a current County Emergency Operation Plan and an Emergency Operations Center that can be activated in time of emergency is only a small part of our job. We are also involved in many projects working with various emergency services providers and volunteer groups in the County. The Emergency Management director is directly responsible to the Saginaw County Chairman of the Board.
