The Saginaw Healthy Homes & Lead Hazard Control Program’s goal is to reduce the number of young children exposed to lead based paint hazards in their homes. The program is targeted to work on 225 rental and home owner occupied homes within the city of Saginaw by the end of 2013. The lead hazard control work may include cleaning, interim controls, and abatement activities such as window and door replacement. The contractors working on our program are required to have their Lead Abatement Contractor license, lead supervisor and worker certifications, State of Michigan builder’s license, Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead Safe Certified Firm and workers must be EPA Certified Renovator’s. If you have any questions with the requirements or need help with the application, please contact Dawn Hallwood at 989-758-3782.
