The William H. Haithco Recreation Area
is a beautiful park with a 40 acre man-made lake. The park offers a lifeguard supervised beach (between Memorial Day and Labor Day), sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, paddleboat rentals, rowboat rentals, canoe rentals, kayak rentals, playground, fishing access, grills, concession stand, a pump track (opening late August 2011) and modern restrooms. There are five pavilions available for rent, two on the north end and three on the south end of the park. The park is conveniently located off I-675 at the Tittabawassee Road exit.
Vehicle Admission begins the Friday before Memorial Day until Labor Day Price per vehicle $5.00 / car $1.00 / walk in $1.00 / non-motorized boat (17 feet & under)
Boating Opportunities: Canoe, Kayak, Paddleboat and Rowboat rental. Non-motorized boats under 17' are allowed on the lake (between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day). All watercraft must be off the lake by 8:00 p.m.
Interested in renting a pavilion? Pavilion rentals for the 2011 season begin January 3, 2011! Reservations must be made at the Parks office, located in the lower level of the Saginaw County Governmental Center (111 S. Michigan Avenue). All rentals are on a first come first serve basis. Directions to William H. Haithco Recreation Area From I-75 Exit I-75 at I-675 (downtown Saginaw). Continue on I-675 to the Tittabawassee Rd. exit. Turn west (left) onto Tittabawassee Rd. Turn south (left) at the first light which is Towne Centre. Travel on Towne Centre until it ends at Schust Rd. Turn east (left) on to Schust Rd. The park is immediately on the (south) right hand side of the road. From M-84 (Bay Road) Travel on M-84 (Bay Rd.) to Schust which is just south of Fashion Square Mall. Turn onto Schust. The Park is located approximately 3/4 of a mile from the intersection of M-84 (Bay Rd.) and Schust. The entrance into the park is located on the south side of Schust Road.
