Position Description:The position is for full-time Public Health Nurse to work the Early On Program, the Children's Special Health Care Program for children who are three and under, and rotate through various clinics providing professional nursing services. The position requires writing and implementing interdisciplinary Family Service Plans in conjunction with families and other community service providers. The ability to do HIV counseling is required. The position will demand flexibility as program requirements and needs within the division changes.
Minimum Requirements: Diploma, Associates Degree in Nursing. Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. All nurses must be in possession of a current Michigan license to practice in Michigan. Community and/or Public Health nursing experience preferred. Certified HIV Counselor preferred. Ability to be certified within 6 months required. Knowledge of Public Health Nursing with emphasis on personal and preventive health services. Ability to relate to clients with empathy and compassion. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Effective communication skills. Ability to provide education on various health related topics. Ability to drive personal automobile with a valid Michigan Driver's License and good driving record.
