| Position Description: | Conducts quasi-judicial hearings in domestic relations actions concerning child support, spousal support, visitation, conservation of marital assets, exclusive use of marital premises, payment of marital obligation, temporary attorney fees, temporary restraining orders, and repayment of confinement expenses. Submits reports to Court and interested parties containing independent assessments and analysis of testimony by stating summary of testimony, finding of relevant facts, identification, and application of relevant statutes and case law, and a disposition. |
| Minimum Requirements: | Juris Doctorate with license to practice in the State of Michigan. One year of experience in general practice or equivalent and three years of experience in family and domestic relations law. Must possess extensive knowledge of family, domestic relations, income tax, property, workers' compensation, personal injury and civil law. Must be able to relate to people from diverse socio/economic and cultural backgrounds. Must possess analytical ability, planning skills, and the ability to handle difficult, emotional people. Must possess excellent communication skills. |
