| Position Description: | Administers basic vision screening tests to children from pre-school to high school students. Individual is responsible for all follow-up on those children identified at-risk for vision problems. Technician duties include scheduling all pre-schools and schools in this area, and completing all paperwork related to the screening and follow-up. Activities are under the general direction of the Hearing and Vision Coordinator and supervision of the Personal Health Services Supervisor. May be required to work as a technician or clerk in other programs during the school year and during the summer. |
| Minimum Requirements: | High school diploma or equivalent. Must complete two week Michigan Department of Community Health training and one week on-the-job evaluation by certified Vision Technician after employment. Experience working in medical field and/or working with children preferred. Good communication skills and ability to relate to children. Must have reliable transportation, valid Michigan Drivers License and satisfactory driving record. |
