The Planning Department staff also assists townships in the County with their local planning, zoning, and mapping responsibilities on a contractual basis. Townships may hire the Planning Department to update zoning maps, zoning ordinances, master plans, and other development plans and regulations. The department also serves local officials in an advisory capacity; all township zoning changes are reviewed by the Planning Commission and department staff which recommends concurrence with, or disapproval of township zoning decisions is completely advisory and does not overrule local authority. |
