If seclusion is more your style, then this is the place for you! Located 5 miles south of Saginaw, this park offers nearly three miles of hiking trails through its 186 acres.

Additionally, the park offers one pavilion available for rent, grills and a new playground.

A group campground is also available for those interested in rustic camping. Campground may be reserved through the Parks office.

From I-75
Exit I-75 at the Bridgeport exit (West), travel west on Dixie Hwy to Fort Rd., turn South (left) onto Fort Rd., Travel South on Fort Rd. to Moore Rd., turn West (right) Moore Rd., to Sheridan Rd., Turn South (left) onto Sheridan Rd.. Price Nature Center will be on the East (left) hand side of the road.

From the City of Saginaw
Travel South on Sheridan Rd. Price Nature Center will be on the East (left) hand side of the road, just past Moore Rd.

From M-13
Travel on M-13 (Albee Rd.) to Curtis Rd., turn East onto Curtis Rd., travel East on Curtis Rd. to Sheridan Rd., turn North (left) onto Sheridan Rd., Price Nature Center will be on the East (right) hand side of the road.

History

In 1940, James C. Price wrote a letter to Michigan State University, Stating he wanted to deed land to the MSU Board of Agriculture.

".... To assure it's continued use to the public for public purposes as a memorial to my (Price) family."

MSU accepted the land and its Forestry Department used it for field studies and experiments. In 1971, the forest department at MSU announced its intent to sell the property to an agency which could better accommodate its evolving use as a park since many community groups were using Price for camping, picnicking, ect. And these uses were antagonistic to research and experiments conducted by the forestry department. In 1979, the Price Memorial Forest officially became part of the Saginaw County Parks System. Price Nature Center, a 186 acre natural area located at 6685 Sheridan , was opened to the public in 1981. Facilities at the park include" a picnic area with pavilion, children's play area, group camp ground, restrooms and 3.5 miles of hiking trails.
