Copies can be obtained over the counter or by mail request at $15.00 for first copy, $7.00 for any additional copies of the same record. All return mail requests will also require an additional $1.00 to cover mailing costs. If you wish to receive a Death or Marriage License by mail, send the application to the County Clerk's Office along with a money order for the appropriate amount payable to Saginaw County Clerk and include a return address. The goal of the Saginaw County Clerk's Office is to respond to mail requests within 5 to 8 working days from the date of receipt of the request.
The County Clerk has maintained and recorded Death and Marriage Licenses from 1867 to the present. These records are available, for public inspection, during regular office hours. Records from 1995 - forward are in a computerized database and can be searched at any time.
The Clerk has the right to determine whether or not an individual has a legitimate research interest in inspecting these records. We also reserve the right to restrict access to these vital records which are in such a state of deterioration that public use may result in damage to the index of documents.
Vital records must not be used for fraudulent or deceptive purposes. In accordance with Section 289A, Act 369, Public Acts of 1978 as amended, being MCL333.2894, a person must not:

- Make, counterfeit, alter, amend or mutilate a vital record or report required to be filed with intent to deceive.
A person who violates this section is guilty or a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than $1,000 or both.
