Honorable Andre Borrello

Judge Borrello was elected to the 10^th Circuit Court in 2016.  Judge Borrello handles both criminal and civil cases for the Saginaw County Circuit Court and also presides over the Saginaw County Recovery Court with Judge Gafkay.

Prior to taking the bench, Judge Borrello served as City Attorney for the City of Saginaw at the law firm Gilbert, Smith, & Borrello. He also served as the Interim Deputy City Manager, Director of Public Utilities, and as the Saginaw County Civil Counsel.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law.  

Civil Procedures

All filings must be submitted to the County Clerk’s office along with payment.  Please include both the Judicial Assistant and the Law Clerk on any emails that may be sent to our office.

All Civil Hearings are held via zoom. Please include the zoom ID on all notice of hearings. The court only hears 3 civil motions a week, with only one being a Motion for Summary Disposition. All Scheduling Order deadlines must be followed. A Stipulation and Order must be submitted within a timely manner to extend these deadlines if need be.

Criminal Procedures

All Pre-Trial Conferences must be held and Summary Forms must be submitted to Tremayne Champion (tchampion@saginawcounty.com) by the due date on the Criminal Scheduling Order. It is highly encouraged that Plea Agreement forms be submitted BEFORE the plea hearing date along with an Advice of Rights, if possible. All other rules stated in the scheduling order must also be followed.

Counsel may contact the County Clerk’s office for motion hearing dates and times at 989-790-5540. A notice of hearing must be submitted before a motion will be scheduled. If the day is no longer available, the clerk’s office will notify counsel to re-notice. Please also see our schedule below.
